Tadami Iwamoto handles the whole process alone from the wooden base making to the lacquer coating. Because of that, his wooden bowls are with unique texture and form that mightn't be considered as lacquerware at first sight. The wooden base is handcraft with basic woodworking tools but not machine-made. Also, unlike the otherlacquerware that with smooth and glossy texture, those wooden bowls are with a matte finish. They are suitable for various dishes regardless of the Japanese-Western style.
