Born and raised in Kyoto, he graduated from the Research Course at the Kyoto Prefectural Technical School for Pottery and Ceramics. In 1998, they established Kōraku-gama at the Hokashirakawa Gingetsu Apartment complex in Kyoto. In 2012, the studio was relocated to Yawata City, Kyoto Prefecture, where the artist continues to practice pottery in Kyoto today.
Drawing on the refined wheel-throwing techniques developed through years of craftsmanship, the artist creates vessels that combine sophisticated, elegant forms with functionality and ease of use.
